Technical Product Manager

Technical Product Manager | £60,000 – £70,000 | London / Hybrid

THE BASICS:

As the Technical Product Manager you’ll take ownership of a core API platform, the integration layer that everything else connects to.

That means you’re not just shaping a roadmap in isolation. You’re working at the point where Product, Engineering, and Commercial all meet; making decisions that directly impact how the platform evolves, how partners integrate, and ultimately how the business grows.

There’s real ownership here. You’ll be expected to make calls, set direction, and see things through.

THE PRE-REQUISITES.

Day to day, you’ll be working closely with engineers to turn complex requirements into clear, deliverable outcomes. You’ll define how the API develops over time, thinking about versioning, performance, and the overall developer experience, not just individual features.

You’ll also spend time understanding how clients and partners are using the platform, where the friction points are, and how to reduce them. That might mean supporting more complex integrations, helping shape enterprise use cases, or identifying opportunities where AI-driven functionality can genuinely add value.

This is a role that requires you to zoom in and out - getting into the detail when needed but always thinking about the ‘bigger picture’ and long-term impact.

THE EMPLOYER NEEDS:

The key thing here is your background.

You’ll have maybe started out in a technical role and moved into product, rather than coming into product from a purely non-technical route. You don’t necessarily need to be hands-on anymore, but you do need to understand APIs, integrations, and how systems fit together at a meaningful level.

Alongside that, you’ll have experience delivering products in a SaaS or enterprise environment, be comfortable working in a setting where priorities can shift and not everything is fully defined from day one.

You’ll need to be someone who can prioritise effectively, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and make decisions without relying on excessive process.

THE ENVIRONMENT:

This is a scaling business, so things won’t always be perfectly structured.

You’ll be working across teams, influencing people without direct authority, and balancing short-term delivery with longer-term platform thinking. If you’re comfortable in that kind of environment, it’s a chance to have a genuine impact, and it’s worth applying TODAY.

THE PACKAGE:

The salary band is £60,000 – £70,000, with a hybrid setup (typically 1–3 days in a London office), alongside a strong benefits package.

THE CONCLUSION:

This job opportunity suits someone who’s technically grounded, commercially aware, and comfortable taking ownership. This is a great opportunity for someone who started out closer to the detail engineering, development, or another technical path, and has since moved into product. Someone who still understands how things work under the hood.

It’s not a feature-factory product role, and it’s not for someone who’s only ever sat on the surface of technology, but for the right person, this will be a very fulfilling role.
