Join Our Client's Team as a Team Leader – Make a Real Difference

Location: Newcastle & Gateshead (UK drivers licence holder with access to a vehicle for work purposes)

Salary: £26,780 per annum + up to £2,600 through on-call payments

On-Call: £2,600 per annum (rotational basis, including weekends)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, typically 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required to meet service needs)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Your Role as Team Leader

You’ll play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, compassionate care. Working closely with the Service Manager and Senior Coordinator, you’ll support your team to deliver care that helps people live independently, safely, and with dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the People Our Client Cares For:

  • Promote wellbeing and independence, ensuring mental, emotional, and physical needs are met.
  • Monitor support plans, risk assessments, and behaviour plans, making sure they’re up to date and followed.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with individuals they support, their families, and professionals.

Leading and Supporting the Team:

  • Mentor and coach Support Workers to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
  • Promote a culture of kindness, respect, and professionalism.
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding, care quality standards, and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, from care notes to audits.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support staff development through on-the-job coaching in areas like medication, moving and handling, and communication techniques.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance practice.
  • Uphold CQC standards and contribute to quality assurance processes.

What They’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities or autism.
  • Some experience in coaching or mentoring within a care setting.
  • Strong leadership skills – able to inspire and support a team.
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (including motorbikes).
  • A genuine passion for delivering great care and empowering others to do the same.
