About Discovery
At Discovery, every day is a chance to make a real difference.
We empower people to live the life they choose—supporting them to grow in confidence, learn new skills, and even discover meaningful employment opportunities.
People with learning disabilities, autistic adults, and their families are at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about helping every person we support lead the very best life possible.
As part of Dimensions—one of the UK’s largest not-for-profit organisations and a leader in best practice for over 40 years—you’ll be joining a team with a proud history and an even brighter future. Together, we create places where people feel valued, respected, and truly at home.
Thanks to our amazing teams, Dimensions Group has been accredited as a Great Place to Work for 2026 — our eighth consecutive year of recognition.
About the role
At The Old Farmhouse, you’ll be part of a committed, compassionate team supporting five adults (four men and one woman) in their 30s–60s who each have their own strengths, needs and personalities. People we support live in self-contained flats within one building, and your role is all about helping them lead meaningful, active and joy-filled lives.
You’ll be supporting individuals with various disabilities including, autism, epilepsy, sensory processing differences, and varied communication styles — including verbal, signing, objects of reference and assisted tech. Full personal care is required, along with catheter care and supporting one person with a mobility walker.
Days here are full of the things people love: trips in the car, popping to the shops, swimming, bowling, spending time in the garden, enjoying sensory rooms, bubble tubes and lights, and having friendly banter with staff. Four people have close family involvement too.
Shifts: run 7am–2pm, 2pm–10pm with alternate weekends.
Driving licence: A full UK manual driving licence is essential to drive Motability vehicles.
If you’re patient, energetic and passionate about person-centred support, you’ll make a real difference here.
About you
You don’t need previous experience to become a great Support Worker — what matters most is your attitude. We’re looking for people who are patient, positive, kind and genuinely motivated to help others live well. If you’re someone who listens, encourages independence, enjoys being part of an active team and isn’t afraid of getting stuck in, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll be someone who values dignity, choice and inclusion, and who brings calmness, resilience and creativity to your work — whether that’s helping with personal care, supporting communication, joining someone for a favourite activity, or enabling someone to feel safe and confident throughout their day.
