Short role summary
HG Recruitment are seeking dedicated, compassionate and organised Support Workers, for our client based in West London. As a Support Worker in a Supported Living setting, you will be a role model within the Care Team who provide excellent care and support for the people supported by the client. You will carry out duties designated by your Team Leader. You will work closely with people who require support, providing both companionship and specialist care.
Flexibility for travel within the local area is required (in line with the needs of people supported by the client).

The Role:
As a support worker you will contribute to a holistic and person-centred care plan. Your priority of the service is to ensure each person who needs support will receive specially considered support, individual to their needs. You will work according to standards set by the client and the Care Quality Commission, providing safe and high-quality care to the people supported by the company.
• Provide high quality support to people in line with their care plan, cultural needs and wishes.
• Support people, take ownership of responsibilities in their home as appropriate, providing support which is encouraging rather than ‘taking over’
• Assist people and support with personal care as required.
• communicate with people you are supporting using appropriate communication methods including empathy, compassion and diplomacy.
• Encourage people we support to make independent choices, in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements.
• Sensitively balance the need to respect the wishes of people we support, whilst encouraging individuals to challenge themselves and take positive risks.
• Encourage people to engage in social, leisure and work opportunities in ways which benefit them and their relationships.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate would have proven experience and skills of the following:
• supporting others emotionally and practically (ideally Adults with additional needs)
• keeping accurate records at work
• Utilising IT systems
• Enjoys the company of others
• Listens with understanding and empathy
• Can communicate effectively using various methods
• Be able to communicate honestly and openly with others
• Is committed to providing high quality care
• Has a can-do attitude!
• Can creatively include participation from others
Flexibility for travel within the local area is required (in line with the needs of people supported by the client), ideally someone that has a Full UK driving licence.
