Primarily servicing the South West of England, our client are now looking for a Structural Project Manager, who is familar with the use of TEKLA, to work on a number of major refurbishments andnew-build projects in and around Bristol.
JOB PURPOSE
With a strong background in structural steelwork and architectural metalwork to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple complex projects across commercial, industrial, and public sector sectors.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in managing end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring quality, cost, safety, and schedule objectives are met or exceeded
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Planning & Execution
- Lead multiple steelwork and metalwork projects from initial tender through to completion and client handover
- Alongside the Estimators, develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
- Ensure accurate detailing, fabrication, and installation in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors
- Attend progress meetings and site visits; provide regular project updates and reports
- Build and maintain strong relationships to promote repeat business and client satisfaction
- Technical Oversight
- Work closely with design, engineering, fabrication, and erection teams to solve technical challenges
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, and quality control documentation
- Ensure compliance with structural codes, CE marking, health & safety regulations, and company standards
- Commercial Management
- Monitor and control project costs, contract variations, and procurement
- Negotiate subcontracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Prepare and review valuations, change orders, and final account
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 6–10 years of project management experience within the structural steelwork and/or metalwork industry
- Proven track record of delivering projects in excess of £1M in value
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, installation techniques, and relevant industry codes
- Proficient with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asta, or Primavera) and drawing review software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla)
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving license (or equivalent if not UK-based)
