Principal Accountabilities
- Overall responsibility for the provision of the Security Service at Scotland.
- Serving as the site authority and coordinating Enterprise Security activities for Edinburgh. Leading the Edinburgh security team.
- Delivering all aspects of physical security at site level, ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, travelers and assets.
- Advise on security related matters as they affect, benefit, impact upon and influence the client’s operation, staff, visitors, vendors, assets and reputation. Monitor and report on training effectiveness and operational performance.
- Identify security risks and concerns and recommend security strategies to counter these.
- Development and implementation of security measures.
- Promotion of security policies and awareness among staff and vendors.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the Edinburgh security team is proactive and quality-focused and carry out all aspects of their duties to the required standard and on time.
- Direct management of all shift Supervisors, with overall responsibility for all security staff recruitment, performance management and training.
- Ensure Edinburgh posts are always staffed by competent, trained and licensed individuals. Manage personnel and roster issues where they occur.
- Ensuring staffing levels are as required by the contract.
- Conduct staff appraisals and yearly staff appraisals.
- Recruitment and training of a new security force including guarding, security control room and pass administration functions.
- Lead the design and delivery of training programs ensuring robust induction and ongoing training for operatives. Review and implementation of innovation to the various training programs.
- Identify and deliver the training needs of each individual member of the security team.
- Mark the monthly recurrent training and provide feedback.
- Maintain and update the training files and records.
- Proactively promote security awareness including conducting security awareness training at induction and ad-hoc.
- Lead at site-level in responding to medical and security incidents and emergencies. Provide strong leadership, direction and reassurance.
- Respond to emergency situations (lockdown, fire evacuation, protest, trespasser, medical emergency, etc.)
- Play significant H&S role including leading evacuations and reoccupation under the Fire Management Plan.
- Liaise with the emergency services as required.
- To form and maintain close links and relations with the local police and other representative groups.
- Overall responsibility for quality assurance, audits, and support to investigations.
- Ensure compliance with client and ICTS policies, particularly site procedures, Corporate Security and Front of House standards. *
- Write, implement, review and maintain SOPs and protocols, identifying improvements and efficiencies.
- Implement and monitor correct use of operational documentation (SOPs, reports, logbooks, timesheets, briefing sheets, patrol records, etc).
- Ensure SLAs and KRIs are met.
- Ensuring that pass admin, security staff, vendors and staff comply with global pass admin SOPs and Enterprise Security Standards.
- Identify and escalate control room and pass admin critical infrastructure issues (phones, VDUs, PCs, printers, software, radios, etc).
- Support the tech team with break-fix and PPMs.
- Overall responsibility for the H&S of the security team, conduct weekly / quarterly H&S audits. Conduct H&S investigations and ensure risk assessments are up to date and reviewed annually or as needed.
- Maintain and update HR files and records.
- Manage annual leave.
- Conduct HR-related hearings (investigations, disciplinaries, probation reviews, welfare meetings, RTW interviews).
- Conduct daily audits (checks, handovers, briefings, key/radio registers, etc.).
- Report and manage lost/found/stolen property.
- Identify, respond, mitigate and escalate threats, risks and incidents to SCC.
- Collaborate with internal departments for smooth operations.
- Overall responsibility for report writing for incidents, maintenance, H&S risks, lost & found, investigations.
- Payroll and invoices related duties.
- Support Corporate Security with events on and off site.
- Fulfil any reasonable requests from the management team.

Qualifications and Experience
- Requires a minimum of five years of advancement in guarding, law enforcement, military, security, or life safety roles.
- To pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and management of guarding operations is essential.
- Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining security, life safety or business continuity procedures and training.
- Proficient in security control room infrastructure and technologies with proven ability to communicate effectively with IT and Security integration professionals
- Level 3 First Response Emergency Care certification or equivalent is desirable – must be willing to qualify as a condition of employment.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Strong scheduling, administrative, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills and able to work in a fast-paced reciprocal team environment.
- Discrete and proactive with excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Details-orientated with a strong focus on process and governance.
- Flexible and exercises good judgement in high pressure scenarios.
- Security and H&S qualifications such as CPP and IOSH, and experience in security fields such as Event Security, Security Technology, Physical Security, Training are an advantage.
- Financial services experience is an advantage.
