Our client is a well-established and growing civil and structural engineering consultancy delivering high-quality, design-led solutions across London and the South East. They work on a broad portfolio of building projects, ranging from complex urban refurbishments and high-end residential schemes to commercial and mixed-use developments.
Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to play a key role in strengthening and expanding their structural engineering team.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Engineer looking to take on a senior delivery-focused position within a collaborative and ambitious consultancy environment.
The role will initially centre on leading structural design packages and managing project delivery across a range of building schemes. As the team develops, there is clear potential for progression into a wider leadership role, working closely with senior technical leadership to help shape standards, processes, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the structural design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
Undertaking structural analysis and design in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
Coordinating structural design within multidisciplinary project teams, working closely with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and other consultants.
Managing projects through all stages, from concept and feasibility through planning, detailed design, and construction.
Preparing structural reports, design calculations, specifications, and technical notes.
Attending design team meetings and liaising directly with clients, contractors, and approving authorities.
Reviewing and checking design work produced by other engineers and technicians as part of quality assurance procedures.
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and technicians within the team.
Contributing to fee proposals, resource planning, and client relationship management where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (BEng or MEng).
Chartered or actively working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE).
Strong UK consultancy experience delivering structural design for building projects.
Proven technical ability in structural analysis and design across multiple materials.
Proficient in industry-standard structural software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, ETABS, SAFE or similar).
Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and Eurocodes.
Comfortable managing projects and engaging directly with clients and design teams.
