Senior Structural Engineer

An award winning engineering consultancy are seeking a highly organised, enthusiastic, and personable structural engineer to join their team in Central London.

They collaborate with some of the countries most ambitious architects and clients to deliver the highest quality buildings and infrastructure projects. They help clients realise their designs by truly understanding the narrative and intent behind each project. 

About the role: 

You will be the main design engineer on their most complex projects, and take a lead role in the delivery of projects on a smaller scale when working with graduate and design engineers - all whilst being supported technically and commercially by their management team. You will be exposed to both concept and detailed design stages of a project. They will have developed a solid basis of technical understanding on a range of building types and sectors. 

Key requirements: 

You need to be highly personable and enjoy working in a close knit team, and possess strong design skills to deliver high quality engineering on a wide range of projects. You should hold a degree in structural engineering, and be closed to achieving chartership with IStructE or ICE.

Responsibilities: 

• Undertake/ oversee the production of design calculations, sketches, and reports to a high level.


• Delegate packages of work effectively and supporting graduates and design engineers in their work, and mentoring/ assisting in their training. 


• Act as the design team's main point of contact on small to large projects depending on level of complexity.


• Undertake the scheme level design for small to large scale projects for presentation and sign off by the project director. 


• Undertake site visits. 


• Actively develop client relationships. 


• Prepare fee proposals for small and medium scale projects and assist with fee proposals on more complex projects on request by a project director.
