Senior Production Design Engineer

A well-established engineering company is seeking to recruit a highly organised and self-driven Senior Production Design Engineer to join its team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the design and manufacturing of innovative products that incorporate hydraulic and electrical systems.

Working in a dynamic environment where all products are manufactured in-house, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process from concept to production, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834 standards. The role offers full product lifecycle exposure and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop design improvements and modifications for existing products through the ECR process


• Design and develop new products from concept stage, following FMEA standards


• Design and create jigs and fixtures to support lean manufacturing


• Manage and update Bills of Materials (BOMs)


• Oversee all engineering documentation and data within PDM systems


• Liaise directly with clients to deliver effective engineering solutions

Skills & Experience Required:

• Extensive engineering experience, ideally in heavy equipment or related industries


• Proficient in SolidWorks (3D CAD)


• Experience in design calculations, including stress analysis


• Skilled in the design of components to tight machining tolerances


• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems; electrical circuit knowledge is advantageous


• CNC programming experience is beneficial
