Senior Mechanical Design

A leading automation company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of bespoke automated systems and robotic machinery. This role combines hands-on engineering with cross-functional collaboration, supporting projects from concept through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of custom automation equipment and robotic systems


• Produce detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks


• Oversee prototyping, testing, and commissioning


• Liaise with clients and internal teams to define requirements


• Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g. CE, ISO)


• Mentor junior engineers and support project planning

Essential Skills

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline


• 7+ years' experience in automation, robotics, or special-purpose machinery


• Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks) and understanding of pneumatics and manufacturing processes


• Proven track record of delivering engineering projects end-to-end

Desirable

• Familiarity with CE/ISO standards, DFM/DFA principles, and PLC interfaces


• Experience with FEA, motion simulation, and rapid prototyping
