Our client is a leading 7-Partner independent firm with over 50 staff across their offices. Semi-Senior Accountant responsibilities

• 
  

  Prepare draft annual accounts for a diverse portfolio including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, ensuring compliance with FRS105 and FRS102(1a) standards.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist on audit assignments by performing bank transaction testing, directional testing of sales and purchases, and fixed asset verification.

  
  


• 
  

  Review work prepared by Accounts Assistants, providing constructive feedback and contributing to the training of junior team members.

  
  


• 
  

  Handle complex accounting elements such as VAT controls, PAYE controls, and the preparation of corporate tax computations for manager review.

  
  

As the successful candidate you will

• 
  

  Have a minimum of 4 years of experience working within a public practice accountancy firm.

  
  


• 
  

  Be a current ACA or ACCA trainee, or be fully AAT qualified.

  
  


• 
  

  Demonstrate the ability to prepare schedules for management accounts and conduct analytical reviews of balance sheets and P&L accounts.

  
  


• 
  

  Possess strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and coordinate with internal managers to meet statutory deadlines.
