Internal Vacancy: Resource Planner
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Resource Planner to join our team in Northampton, supporting operational excellence across Area 6 & 8 schemes and Major Projects.
Location: Northampton depot
Contract Type: Fixed Term for 12 months with a view to extending dependent upon scheme requirements
Working Hours: Full-time - Monday to Friday | 08:00-17:00
Reports to: Operations Manager
Role Overview
As Resource Planner, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time. You’ll manage workforce planning, shift scheduling, and resource deployment across multiple schemes, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Workforce Planning & Resource Allocation - assess daily/weekly workload across the area, matching operatives to job requirements and ensuring coverage for day/night shifts.
- Shift & Rota Management - develop and circulate rotas ensuring compliance with working time regulations and fatigue policies
- Job Briefing & Deployment - issue daily job allocation sheets including site location and contact details
- Compliance & Documentation - maintain accurate records of certifications and training
- Communication & Collaboration - work closely with depot Supervisors, operational management, and other depots
- Monitoring & Adjustments - Track attendance, job completion and performance along with adjusting schedules based on changes, sharing resources efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Previous demonstrable experience of administrative responsibilities
- Knowledge of the Traffic Management industry
- Organised, diligent and thorough
- Reliable and punctual
- Adheres to and sets high standard of personal admin, daily time keeping
- Confident communicator with experience collaborating effectively across all levels of the business
- Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office suite of software and ability to work with other business management systems
Desirable
- Traffic Management Foreman qualification and ideally 5 years’ experience
