OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Rental Project Manager is responsible for driving external sales growth through the development of new and existing customer relationships, while also overseeing the planning and delivery of installation projects.

The role combines business development with operational responsibility, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role also includes direct responsibility for managing and coordinating installation teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of all stakeholders, including the public, customers, colleagues, and installation teams, maintaining full compliance with health & safety standards.
  • Drive external sales activity by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the rental and project market.
  • Manage key customer relationships, acting as the primary point of contact from initial enquiry through to project completion.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and tender submissions to customers in conjunction with the Internal sales team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, opportunities, and project progress within the CRM system.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and project scope to secure profitable business.
  • In conjunction with the operations manager, Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation projects from order to completion.
  • In conjunction with the operations manager, Coordinate labour, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth and timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively resolving issues and mitigating risks.
  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, operations, logistics, and finance) to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Ensure all installations are completed in line with customer expectations, specifications, and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, project progress, and pipeline forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business, upselling, and long-term account development.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, project delivery, and installation team activity.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience in external sales /hire within the construction industry
  • Preferable - project or installation management
  • Preferable - knowledge of barrier systems and traffic management
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
  • Experience managing subcontractors or field-based teams
  • Project management experience or qualifications
