Quantity Surveyor/Estimator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are effectively controlled and monitored. This position requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to provide accurate estimates and maintain budgetary compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.


• Conduct cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential savings.


• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met.


• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.


• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.


• Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to management.


• Conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.


• Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to clarify project requirements and resolve any discrepancies.

Experience

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.


• Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.


• Strong understanding of construction processes, contract law, and procurement methods.


• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.


• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
