Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

A well-established company operating in the demolition sector across Ireland and the UK is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This senior role is based at company headquarters and offers the opportunity to influence both strategic and day-to-day operations within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess tender opportunities, preparing competitive bids within strict deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to compile high-quality tender submissions, ensuring value engineering opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and environmental requirements, ensuring full compliance.
- Negotiate with clients and subcontractors to secure optimal outcomes for the business.
- Manage contract administration effectively, identifying and mitigating contractual risks.
- Assess and price variations and change orders, ensuring accurate documentation and collaboration with project teams.
- Prepare and submit Payment Claim Notices/Claims in a timely manner.
- Generate financial reports, including cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and CVR reports, keeping senior management informed of project financials.
Essential Criteria:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience in a demolition, civil engineering, or general contracting environment, with knowledge of Irish/UK contracts and procurement processes.
- Alternatively, candidates from a trade background who have obtained a degree (part-time or full-time) and have at least 3 years’ post-degree experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off software and cost estimation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in contract administration and construction project management.
- Solid understanding of financial principles and budget control.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
