Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services)

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to provide technical leadership within our Building Services team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical design, raising technical standards, and developing engineering talent across a range of commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design across concept to detailed stages.


• Provide expertise on LV distribution, power, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarms, security, containment, and controls.


• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CIBSE standards, building regulations, and industry best practice.


• Review and sign off calculations, drawings, and technical documents.


• Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers.


• Promote innovation, digital engineering, and sustainable building design.


• Represent the electrical discipline in client and design team meetings.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.


• Chartered (CEng) or working towards it (IET or CIBSE).


• Strong background in electrical building services design within consultancy or design-led environments.


• Proficiency with industry software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, Revit, and AutoCAD.


• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
