Operations Manager

A market leader in timber processing with operations across Ireland and the UK, supplying the construction, pallet, fencing, and off-site building sectors. The company also operates renewable energy facilities and is undergoing major investment and growth.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to manage a large-scale, highly automated manufacturing site employing over 240 people. The General Manager will oversee engineering, production, maintenance, SHEQ, and continuous improvement, with full site responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead plant operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets


• Oversee engineering performance, reliability, and capex projects


• Drive lean initiatives, automation, and efficiency improvements


• Manage budgets and ensure best-value procurement


• Lead and develop cross-functional teams and promote a culture of excellence

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related)


• 5+ years’ experience in a senior operations role within heavy/high-volume manufacturing


• Proven track record in automation, capital projects, and continuous improvement


• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and financial management skills
