An established manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Operations Manager to oversee and enhance its production operations. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role focuses on optimising workflows, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production operations to meet quality and efficiency targets.
- Assist in production scheduling, ensuring on-time delivery to customers.
- Lead and motivate a skilled production team to achieve performance goals.
- Monitor and implement KPIs to drive continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Quality teams to optimise operations.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety policies.
- Identify opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements.
- Manage production budgets, resources, and planning in alignment with business goals.
- Work with HR on performance management and employee relations.
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a production management role within manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality control systems.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in production planning software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience in recycling or heavy industries is a plus
