NPD Technologist

NPD Technologist - Monaghan €40k - €45k 

A leading food manufacturing business is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Development professional to join its Culinary Innovation team. This role supports the development and launch of innovative food products from concept through to commercialisation, working closely with Procurement, Production, Quality, R&D, and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support New Product Development (NPD/NPI) projects from concept to launch


• Coordinate and manage critical paths, meetings, actions, and timelines


• Complete product specifications and approve packaging artwork


• Assist with ingredient and packaging sourcing alongside Procurement


• Support factory trials, sensory evaluations, stability testing, and product validation


• Coordinate shelf-life testing, nutritional submissions, and cooking instruction validation


• Maintain accurate documentation including formulations, specifications, and process updates


• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSAI, and customer quality standards


• Support production troubleshooting and process optimisation initiatives


• Prepare products for customer presentations, sampling sessions, and site visits


• Assist with product costing and innovation KPI delivery

Requirements

• Food-related degree and/or minimum 2 years’ product development experience within the food industry


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment


• Passion for food innovation and continuous improvement


• Experience working cross-functionally with technical and operational teams


• Full clean driving licence required
