About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting individuals with learning disabilities? We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate Night Support Worker to join a friendly and professional team in a residential and respite service for adults with learning disabilities. This is a rewarding role where you will be directly involved in improving the lives of those you care for, helping them reach their full potential and ensuring they have the support they need during nighttime hours.
In this position, you will assist service users with their nighttime routines, following their individual care plans. This role offers variety, and you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Your work will help provide individuals with the opportunity to live fulfilling and independent lives while also offering their carers the chance to recharge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Person-Centred Care: Aid with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, and using the toilet, always encouraging service users to maintain as much independence as possible.
- Daily Support: Support service users with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting, ensuring they can live comfortably and safely.
- Health and Well-Being: Monitor and record any changes in the physical and emotional well-being of the service users, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other support staff and healthcare professionals to deliver personalised care plans, ensuring each individual’s needs are met with compassion and respect.
- Recreational Support: Encourage social and recreational activities to enhance the well-being and integration of service users into the local community.
- Health and Medication: Administer prescribed medication and assist with mobility needs, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Safeguarding: Maintain safety and dignity for all individuals under your care, following safeguarding policies and reporting any incidents or concerns immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately record all care provided and maintain service user records, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

We are seeking someone who has a genuine desire to help others, particularly those with learning disabilities. The successful candidate will be compassionate, dependable, and have the flexibility to work unsocial hours, including nights and public holidays.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a good level of numeracy
- A genuine interest in working with individuals in a care environment
- Awareness of the needs of people with learning and physical disabilities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible approach to working hours, with a willingness to work on a rolling shift pattern
