Working Hours: Monday–Wednesday 08:00–16:00 + occasional Saturdays (08:00–13:00)

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our friendly and supportive UKAS-accredited Pathology Lab at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone – Kent’s largest independent hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in patient care while learning from experienced professionals in a modern and fast-paced lab setting.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will provide essential support to our Biomedical Scientists, assisting with both technical and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the delivery of a high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology service.
Accurately receiving, labelling, and recording specimens using our IT systems.
Maintaining and cleaning laboratory equipment in line with SOPs and regulatory standards.
Helping uphold our laboratory’s ISO:15189 accreditation through diligent, safe, and compliant practices.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to grow their skills in a clinical environment. Ideally, you will have:

GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Confidence in using IT systems and a willingness to learn new platforms.
Experience working in a healthcare or laboratory environment (desirable but not essential).
