About the role:

As a Mechanical Engineer at Redpack, you will play a critical role in the assembly and mechanical build of our high quality packaging machinery. You will leverage your technical expertise to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. In addition, you could help support the training and development of new personnel, building a collaborative environment while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure every machine is built to perfection, ready to deliver exceptional results to our customers. Working hours will be a standard 37-hour work week, with overtime compensated at 1.5x the hourly rate after 37 hours and double pay on Sundays.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assemble machines and oversee their progression to the testing and commissioning stage.
  • Service and rebuild machinery as required to maintain peak operational efficiency.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new employees, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Identify any build issues promptly and communicate them to relevant personnel to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Ensure all associated documentation is completed accurately and contributes to a seamless build process. Collaborate across departments and promote continuous improvement and preventive actions.
