We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team within a leading organisation in the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues independently and within a team.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and minimise waste during maintenance tasks.
- Maintain workshops, tools, and equipment in good working order.
- Keep accurate maintenance records in line with departmental procedures.
- Report and record equipment issues for corrective action.
- Contribute to daily operational meetings.
- Provide mentoring and coaching to apprentices and new team members.
- Engage in cross-training to expand technical skills.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and environmental policies.
- Supervise contractors and ensure compliance with site procedures.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Technical diploma/degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a similar role within an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Proven electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Desirable:
- Apprenticeship certification in mechanical or electrical trades.
- Health & Safety certifications (Working at Height, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Forklift licence).
- Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, automation, and CMMS.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- HACCP training.
