KIMS Hospital Angel
It takes a special person to volunteer to give up their own time to help others without any financial reward – there’s definitely something angelic about it. We are looking for candidates who possess a variety of life skills to support our patients and visitors. If you are looking for a rewarding and worthwhile opportunity to assist others, why not apply to join the KIMS Hospital Angels team.
Duties of a KIMS Hospital Angel will include:
- Act as hosts for visitors, escorting them as required, helping with form filling, refreshments and waiting with patients as and when required.
- Helping to keep the outpatient and inpatient waiting areas tidy and talking to patients within these areas.
- Visiting patients on the wards especially if they do not have their own visitors.
- Helping patients and visitors by directing them to imaging, cardiology and other areas of the hospital if reception staff are busy.
- Helping visitors on the wards with where to get refreshments when catering are not doing tea or coffee rounds.
- Waiting with patients in Main Reception on discharge if they are alone and waiting for family members to get their car.
- Working with the Reception staff to help any patient with form filling if they need support to fill out their registration forms or patient experience forms.
The ideal candidates will:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- To be naturally caring and show understanding.
- To be a good listener and have a calm and reassuring manner.
- May have worked within the voluntary sector or a customer service environment would be advantageous although not essential.
