Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Inventory Migration Specialist to support a high-impact project focused on migrating legacy fibre network inventory systems to a modern, commercial off-the-shelf platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain knowledge of both active and passive fibre networks, along with practical experience in data mapping, migration planning, and system modernisation. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and a deep understanding of network inventory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of legacy inventory systems (primarily home-grown) and support the phased migration.
  • Identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and recommend resolution strategies.
  • Work closely with SMEs, data owners, and legacy system specialists to ensure smooth data transformation.
  • Perform hands-on data analysis and support the design of new inventory structures.
  • Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and IT teams.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of fixed project milestones within a collaborative transformation team.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Solid experience with both active and passive fibre network assets.
  • Prior exposure to inventory management systems — experience with Comarch is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to work with SQL and data querying tools (e.g.Toad).
  • Familiarity with data mapping in complex network topologies.
  • Experience working in a transformation or migration environment, ideally involving legacy-to-modern platform transitions.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in analysis and high-level inventory design.

Team & Support:

  • You will be part of a wider architecture and transformation team.
  • Support will be available from SMEs, data owners, and legacy system specialists.
