Technical Instructor - Inpatient 

Contract: 40 Hours per week, Permanent

Salary: £25,600- £26,500 per annum

Shifts: Monday - Sunday between 8am - 5pm

KIMS Hospital are looking for an Inpatient Technical Instructor to join our Physical Therapy department.

As an Inpatient Technical Instructor, you will perform assessments, treatments and undertake discharge planning for elective surgical patients. 

This role is a full-time role working 40 hours per week.  Shifts will be 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm with rotational weekend working required.  

Role Responsibilities include:

  • To work alongside the inpatient physical therapy team to maintain an efficient day-to-day service, contributing towards the general running of the physical therapy department.
  • Assess pre and post-surgical inpatients and working alongside the inpatient team clinically reason appropriate treatment plans. 
  • Assist clients with mobility and exercise programmes, under the guidance of a qualified physical therapist.
  • Encourage patients and their family/carer's in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all aspects of clinical governance are maintained specifically taking an active role in clinical audit.

Person Specification:

  • Be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or a minimum of 1-year relevant hospital experience
  • Have relevant therapy experience at either an assistant or a Technical Instructor level
  • Be absolutely patient focused with a desire to facilitate a collaborative culture within the department
  • Be energetic and achievement focused with a passion for therapy and the desire to develop
  • Be willing to continually develop and work within professional competencies.
