HR Advisor

The Human Resources team at Oxford Policy Management is currently seeking a Human Resources Advisor on a permanent basis. The position will be located in Oxford, UK

HR is at the centre of all that we do at OPM. We have a team of 12 across the globe with the HR Advisor being based in the UK. Our role is to ensure that the organisation is well positioned to recruit and retain best-in-class talent who are capable of fulfilling our mission to improve lives through sustainable policy change.

The role of HR Advisor reports into the HR Operations Manager and is at the centre of the HR teams activities providing HR advice and administrative services to our organisation.  It is a true generalist role and will provide any keen HR professional a great opportunity to develop, learn and add value to the overall business.   
The position is responsible for providing consistently high quality, effective HR advice and administration across the whole employee lifecycle and contribute to improvements in the levels and quality of service provided.  

As a HR Advisor at OPM you will:  

  • Provide 1st Line HR Support for employees responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations 
  • Support line managers with all aspects of employee relations and application of policy and advising on Employment Law
  • Provide operational HR & Payroll activities across the whole employee lifecycle 
  • Support the HR business partner for particular area(s) of the business with various first stage employee relations issues.
  • Maintain the HRIS system (MS Dynamics) with good data management; inputting, accessing, updating, reporting etc
  • Raise HR documents in line with relevant HR policies and procedures
  • Prioritise and balance the day to day deadlines delivering within tight timelines
  • Ensuring that quality levels are met and knowing when to escalate issues in a timely manner
  • Support and coordinate various HR projects 
  • Demonstrate OPM’s values and have a passion for social impact 

Key qualifications/experience/skills/behaviours:   

  • Experience of working at an advisor level in a busy HR team and supporting activities across the employee cycle 
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law (understanding of this in Germany and US would be beneficial)
  • Experience in interpreting, advising and implementing HR processes and procedures
  • Hands-on experience with HR information systems including, accessing, inputting, and compiling data 
  • The ability to research, analyse and reason logically within tight and conflicting timeframes across multiple locations
  • A high level of computer literacy & competent in the Microsoft Office suite – Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate drive and attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Able to work in a confidential environment and with diplomacy  
  • Ability to work as part of a team, both in person and remotely together maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • The ability to communicate with a diverse employee population across all levels of seniority
  • Enjoy working with people and own strong relationship building skills

CIPD Level 3 or 5 is desirable but not essential
