Graduate Civil Engineer

Job Title: Graduate Civil Engineer



Location: Berkshire



Job Purpose



To support the design, development, and delivery of civil engineering projects across a range of sectors. The role provides exposure to all stages of project work, from feasibility and design through to construction and maintenance.



Key Responsibilities





  • Assist in the preparation of designs, calculations, drawings, and technical reports.




  • Support site inspections, surveys, and supervision of construction activities.




  • Work with multidisciplinary teams including architects, contractors, and other engineers.




  • Use industry-standard software for analysis, design, and drafting (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, STAAD, etc. depending on company focus).




  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.




  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making.




  • Maintain project documentation and records in line with company and client requirements.




  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) with a view to achieving chartered status (ICE/IStructE or equivalent).





Qualifications & Skills



Essential:





  • BEng/MEng (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (accredited by ICE/IStructE preferred).




  • Strong technical knowledge in core civil engineering principles.




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design/drafting software.




  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.




  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.




  • Willingness to travel and work on site when required.




  • Full UK driving license and car.




  • Must be within an 1 hour from office.




  • 0-1 Years experience.





Desirable:





  • Relevant internship, placement, or site experience.




  • Knowledge of UK/European codes and standards (Eurocodes, DMRB, etc.).




  • Awareness of sustainable design and digital engineering (BIM).
