Facilities & Workshop Manager

As a global leader in ship management and marine services, our client adds value to a vessel’s operations. They’re currently looking to recruit a Facilities Manager who will manage our clients’ facilities, security and vehicle maintenance and also being a line manger to the workshop personnel.

Job Responsibilities

  • To manage the facilities, plant and vehicle maintenance logs on the EWB, whilst managing the Workshop Team to implement the maintenance.
  • To be accountable for routine facility maintenance, including updating any facility certification.
  • To arrange for site visits and quotations from 3rd party suppliers in support of facility maintenance, such as grounds maintenance, plumbers, electricians etc. Raise purchase orders to support works.
  • To be accountable for vehicle management, servicing and repair. Coordination of Driving Licenses & Tachos, and vehicle operators’ licenses. Hold overall responsibility for vehicle management.
  • To arrange plant management, including logistics to mobilise to worksite and back, on-going maintenance/servicing and update of EWB.
  • To manage property security and maintain records of and manage keys/key fobs to all relevant personnel.
  • To manage building fire security and manage 3rd party fire supplier access to maintain fire/security systems. Hold regular fire drills/tests. To hold position as a fire marshal and delegate other personnel to support role of the fire marshal role.
  • To conduct compliance audits and update certification.
  • To closely support the Engineering Team with equipment availability. 
  • To line manage workshop personnel with support from Engineering Team.

Qualification and experience required

  • Experienced with working within workshops and/or stores management.
  • Experienced in working with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations such as COSHH.
  • Experienced in using Microsoft Software and IT literate.
  • Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication.
  • Availability to travel as required (between UK facilities).
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent).
