Our client is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the Facilities Manager in looking after the building and grounds at 3 schools in a Multi Academy Trust. You will be responsible for a wide range of duties including maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school building and grounds.

The core operations run Monday to Friday, 6am to 10pm, with additional lettings taking place at weekends. This structure gives real flexibility to shape the role around the right person. Whether you're looking for full-time, part-time, casual work, or occasional hours on an as-needed basis – our client is open to working around you.

Responsibilities of the post holder are not limited to, but will include:

  • Regular maintenance of the site ensuring it remains clean and accessible at all times.
  • Unlocking the premises in advance of the school day and securing the premises at the end of the day.
  • Carry out day to day repairs / maintenance of the buildings
  • Be part of the alarm callout rota as required, so access to a vehicle if essential
  • Assist with events and general running of the schools
  • In conjunction with the Facilities Manager organise external contractors to undertake maintenance work that cannot be carried out in-house.

You will be a responsible individual who takes pride in your day-to-day work. You will be very pro-active in attending to the needs of the school to ensure everything runs smoothly and be able to provide excellent customer service skills as well as having an awareness of health and safety issues. A good understanding of plumbing, electrical systems and DIY would be desirable. 

Our client is a Multi Academy Trust, consisting of two secondary schools, one primary school and one nursery at the heart of our local community in the Maidstone and Malling area of Kent.
