Fabric Shift Engineer – Temp to Perm

A leading FM service provider is seeking a Fabric Shift Engineer to join the maintenance team at a well-known commercial building in Lewisham. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering career progression, training, and a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general fabric maintenance (e.g., door closers, locks, project works)


• Monitor plant systems and BMS


• Maintain AHUs and FCUs (filter changes, cleaning)


• Perform basic plumbing tasks (e.g., unblocking toilets, replacing taps/washers)


• Escort specialist subcontractors


• Complete PPM tasks and respond to reactive maintenance requests


• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards (HASAWA)


• Maintain accurate records and documentation


• Communicate issues to the Shift Lead or Supervisor

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fabric maintenance within a commercial environment


• Trade or multi-trade background (e.g., carpentry)


• Able to provide at least 2 references from the past 5 years


• Own safety boots and basic hand tools
