Estimator Assistant

An entry point role within the Estimating and Preconstruction field is newly available with our Southampton based client. This role provides a structured opportunity to develop your career into an Estimator or Contract Supervision role as your skills, experience and knowledge progress.

Ideally you will have a back ground in construction or civil engineering as you will need to be able to understand the technical side of the role from day one.  This is a very niche role within a specific industry, so expect a steep learning curve! You will need to be able to absorb information, be hard working and quick to learn. 

The role itself with be supporting the Senior Estimator for a company providing cutting-edge solutions to clients worldwide on anything from small-scale repairs to large infrastructure projects within the civil engineering industry.

You will be:

  • Able to interpret and understand clients’ requirements
  • Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • A good communicator as you will be interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Used to working under pressure and to deadlines
  • Utilising your strong numerical and analytical skills as well as your proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Able to drive – you need a full UK driving licence and car to attend site visits

Although this is an Estimator Assistant position, it is not a junior role for someone with no engineering background.
