Our client, a renowned independent boarding school, is seeking a passionate English and Literacy Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and inspire the future of students with dyslexia and diverse learning needs, providing tailored education from Year 7 to Sixth Form.
As an ideal candidate, you will possess:
- An Honours Degree in English or significant experience teaching English / Literacy, along with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience in teaching English in a mainstream or special education setting, particularly to students with dyslexia and specific learning difficulties.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum, including the progression of literacy skills, and the ability to create engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with a passion for supporting students’ academic and personal development.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion principles within the school community.

Key responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons, tailored to the needs of students with dyslexia and co-occurring needs, ensuring skill progression and adequate support for all learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum and assessment strategies.
- Regularly assess students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to foster improvement.
- Utilise multisensory teaching strategies, assistive technology, and evidence-based interventions to enhance literacy skills.
- Act as a Form Tutor, supporting students’ overall progress and contributing to the planning and delivery of the PSHE programme.
