About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer / Estimator to join our team in the fabrication industry. This is a key role involving the preparation of accurate estimates and CAD designs for custom fabrication projects, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate cost estimates and quotations for fabrication projects.
- Interpret technical drawings and customer specifications to assess materials, labour, and production requirements.
- Prepare and update CAD drawings using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with client expectations.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding material costs and lead times.
- Maintain and update estimation databases and project documentation.
- Provide technical support during project execution as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimation and CAD design within fabrication or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
