COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Our client is the UK’s market leader in lightning and surge protection services. They specialise in the design, installation, and commissioning of bespoke protection systems, as well as offering ongoing testing, inspection, maintenance, repair, and upgrade services.

They also provide advanced power earthing solutions across various sectors and are experts in electrical testing, including fixed wire and portable appliance testing.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their team with the appointment of a Test & Inspection Electrician, based in Berkshire and covering surrounding areas.

JOB PURPOSE:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Test & Inspection Electrician to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) across a range of commercial and industrial sites. You will be responsible for testing electrical installations, identifying safety issues, and ensuring compliance with current regulations. This is a field-based role offering autonomy, variety, and strong support from a leading industry name.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform detailed EICRs across commercial and industrial environments
• Inspect and test electrical installations, including circuits, switchgear, and control systems
• Identify and report on faults, non-compliance issues, and potential safety risks
• Produce clear, detailed inspection reports with recommendations for corrective work
• Work to current regulations, including BS 7671 and IET Wiring Regulations
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation, best practices, and industry standards
• Communicate findings and technical advice effectively to clients
• Ensure test equipment is maintained and calibrated regularly
• Follow company safety protocols and operational procedures at all times
• Take part in continuous professional development and training

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical inspection and testing
• City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) qualification
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• Strong working knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical systems
• Excellent diagnostic, reporting, and communication skills
• Competent with test equipment and reporting software
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach
• Full UK driving licence
