Electrical Maintenance Engineer

A well-established food manufacturing company in the Newry area is seeking a proactive and skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, supporting the production of high-quality food products for both national and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs on a range of production equipment including conveyors, forming machines, refrigeration units, and packaging systems


• Diagnose electrical faults and perform effective repairs to minimise downtime


• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with equipment upgrades


• Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and food hygiene standards


• Update maintenance logs and work orders using a CMMS system


• Collaborate with production and quality teams to maintain optimal line performance

Required Skills & Experience:

• Time-served Electrician or Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Engineering


• Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred


• Strong fault-finding and PLC experience


• Ability to read electrical schematics and work independently


• Awareness of HACCP and food safety compliance is an advantage
