The role:

•  Monitor and assess residents' health status, assisting in clinical decision-making and problem resolution.


• Foster effective communication amongst healthcare team members and collaborate with other departments.


• Ensure compliance with care home policies and procedures, implementing and enforcing safety protocols.


• Manage nursing resources efficiently, participating in budget planning and control.


• Identify areas for quality improvement and implement necessary changes.


• Provide leadership to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.


• Supervise and support nursing staff, ensuring appropriate skill mix and staffing levels. Facilitate ongoing training and development for the nursing team to enhance their skills and knowledge.


• Monitor and assess the quality of care delivered, conducting regular audits to identify areas for improvement. Implement and oversee measures to maintain compliance with relevant regulatory standards and policies.


• Conduct patient assessments and contribute to the development of individualised care plans. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and person-centred care for residents.
