Workshop Recruitment are currently recruiting COTS, Part 1 and Part 2 Scaffolders for a long-term high-security project on the Isle of Wight. Candidates live in the Portsmouth area as travel and accommodation can be arranged, this is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on a major project, with work expected to last approximately two years. All applicants MUST be willing to undergo and pass the required security screening and vetting process to be successful.
Requirements
- Valid CISRS COTS, Part 1 or Part 2 Scaffolding Card
- Must live in the Isle of Wight or Portsmouth Area
- Previous scaffolding experience
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- Willingness to complete security clearance / vetting
- Reliable, punctual and professional attitude
Responsibilities
- Erecting, modifying and dismantling tube and fitting scaffolding
- Installing independent scaffolds, towers, birdcages and loading bays
- Assisting with temporary roof structures and edge protection
- Installing access scaffolds and stair towers
- Fitting handrails, guardrails and toe boards
- Working safely at height using correct safety equipment
- Loading, unloading and organising scaffolding materials
- Carrying out scaffold alterations and adaptations
- Ensuring scaffolding structures comply with TG20 guidelines
- Maintaining safe and tidy working areas
- Following method statements and risk assessments
- Assisting with scaffold inspections and safety checks
- Working alongside other trades on site
- Adhering to strict site health & safety procedures
COTS Responsibilities
- Assisting scaffolders with erection and dismantling of scaffolding structures
- Passing, lifting and positioning scaffold materials safely
- Supporting the safe loading and unloading of scaffolding equipment
- Maintaining safe access and routes around scaffold areas
- Ensuring scaffolding components are stored and handled correctly
- Assisting with the installation of basic scaffold components
- Maintaining clean and organised work areas
- Ensuring correct use of PPE and fall protection equipment
- Supporting compliance with site safety regulations and working at height procedures

Security Clearance
