About the Role

Our client, a well-established Tier 2 main contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join their team to deliver a £24m new build school project in the Northern Home Counties.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong pipeline of education and public sector projects. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities on site.

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain the construction programme and ensure key milestones are achieved.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure all works are carried out in line with health and safety requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor quality control procedures and ensure works meet design specifications.

  
  


• 
  

  Lead site meetings, toolbox talks, and progress reporting.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and resolve on-site issues to maintain programme delivery.

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Proven experience working as a Construction Manager with a main contractor.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience delivering projects valued £10m+, ideally within the education or public sector.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong leadership and subcontractor management experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent knowledge of construction sequencing and site management.

  
  


• 
  

  Relevant qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Managers Card) and First Aid.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong communication and organisational skills.
