Business Unit/ Operations Manager

A well-established and growing engineering business is seeking a capable and commercially aware Business Unit / Operations Manager to lead its manufacturing facility in Ballykelly. This role is responsible for managing production output, leading a skilled team, and driving operational performance in line with company objectives.

Salary - £70k - £80k 

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets


• Lead and develop the production team, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and high performance


• Manage scheduling, resource planning, and workflow to optimise efficiency


• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure aligned delivery


• Drive improvements in productivity, process, and team capability


• Ensure a safe and compliant working environment at all times

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years’ experience in a production or operations management role within a manufacturing setting


• Strong leadership and team management skills


• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and quality assurance practices


• Confident communicator with a hands-on, problem-solving approach


• Commercially aware and delivery-focused

Desirable

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field


• Experience with ERP systems and operational metrics


• Familiarity with electrical systems or switchgear production (advantageous)
