Associate Mechanical Design Engineer (Data Centre Projects)

We are looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to take a leading role within our Data Centre design team. You will drive mechanical engineering quality, guide project teams, and help shape our approach to delivering resilient, energy-efficient, mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design development for data centre projects from early feasibility through detailed design.


• Provide specialist knowledge of cooling technologies including chilled water systems, direct/indirect air-cooling, CRAH/CRAC units, heat rejection plant, and high-resilience configurations.


• Ensure all designs align with ASHRAE, CIBSE, Uptime Institute, and relevant global standards.


• Oversee technical output including calculations, system strategies, reports, and coordinated design documentation.


• Support and mentor mechanical engineers, contributing to technical development across the team.


• Promote innovative, low-energy solutions and support continuous improvement in data centre design practices.


• Participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and multidisciplinary workshops.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.


• Chartered or progressing toward chartership (IMechE or CIBSE).


• Strong background in mechanical design for data centres or other mission-critical environments.


• Skilled in engineering tools such as IES, Hevacomp, and Revit MEP.


• Confident communicator with experience leading technical discussions and guiding design teams.
