Associate Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services)

We are seeking an experienced Associate Mechanical Design Engineer to provide technical leadership and support the growth of our Building Services team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical designs, driving technical standards, and mentoring engineers across a range of commercial, residential, education, and healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical building services design from concept to detailed stages.


• Provide expertise in HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, public health, and low-carbon building systems.


• Ensure compliance with CIBSE guidelines, Building Regulations, and relevant British Standards.


• Review and sign off mechanical calculations, schedules, specifications, and drawings.


• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers.


• Champion sustainable, energy-efficient building design and modern digital engineering practices.


• Represent the mechanical discipline in client meetings and design coordination sessions.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.


• Chartered (CEng) or working towards it (CIBSE or IMechE).


• Strong experience in mechanical building services design within consultancy.


• Proficient with industry tools such as IES, Hevacomp, Revit MEP, and AutoCAD.


• Strong communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
