Assistant to the Head of Learning Support

Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant to the Head of Learning Support to join their vibrant team. This role is essential for supporting the strategic development and coordination of high-quality Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision within their independent boarding school, which specialises in dyslexia and related specific learning difficulties.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Head of Learning Support and wider team, ensuring effective communication and organisation.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure timely and compliant documentation.
- Liaise sensitively with parents, external agencies, and Local Authorities, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration.
- Assist in the preparation, tracking, and submission of EHCP paperwork and lead annual review meetings as allocated.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to optimise pupil outcomes, working closely with specialist staff.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualifications in Dyslexia or SpLD, or relevant experience in SEND.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with an ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to engage with a range of stakeholders.
- A secure understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive classroom practices.
- Experience in administrative processes related to SEND and knowledge of EHCP procedures.
