Estimator Position 

Position: Assistant Estimator 

Base location: Folkestone

Contract type: Permanent 

Salary:  £40,000

What will you be doing? 

• Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions 

• Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings 

• Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations 

• Input data into estimating software and spreadsheets 

• Organise tender documents and track deadlines 

• Support senior estimators with pricing and cost breakdowns 

• Help identify risks and value engineering opportunities 

• Attend tender meetings and assist with post-tender queries 

The role: 

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Estimator to join a well-established residential developer delivering high-quality projects across the region. You will play a key role in supporting the Estimator or Senior Estimator in preparing accurate costings and tender submissions. 

What they are looking for: 

 • Ability to read and understand construction drawings 

• Strong numerical and analytical skills 

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel 

• High attention to detail 

• Strong organizational skills 

• Good communication skills (liaising with suppliers/subcontractors) 

• Relevant qualification (Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar) 

• Eagerness to learn and progress within estimating
