THE ROLE
- The candidate will be using commercial and bespoke software to prepare files for jobs to print on lithographic presses and submitting digital proofs for clients
- Checking customer artwork for content and preparing/correcting clients artwork files for printing (amending as required)
- Files received via customer services either by email or FTP may be print-ready or may require adjustment
- QC and cross checks on jobs
- To comply with current systems of working, including established shift patterns
- The position may also require ad hoc tasks including assisting in other areas of production
- You will carry out quality checking and have attention to detail
- Carrying out any other work as instructed by your lead operator when machine downtime
- Highlighting any anomalies to your lead operator/supervisor
THE PERSON
- You must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
- You must be experienced with the Adobe range of software, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
- Knowledge of colour separating (trapping, overprinting etc.) would be desired but is not prerequisite
- You must have experience in planning both packaging and commercial work
- You will be creating and supplying digital proofs to clients for approval
- Involved use of bespoke, industry specific software relevant to your role, for proofing and planning
- You must have experience of working shifts and working unsupervised
- A good work ethic, reliable, punctual and positive attitude
- Family values, a can-do attitude and flexibility
- Production experience in fast-paced environment
- Willing to learn new skills
- Able to take direction from a senior team member
- Good attention to detail at all times
